I’ve been thinking lately about passing on knowledge to people who want to learn new skills. I took up cycling in November, and it’s just been wonderful and fun. While googling about biking in Nashville I found a local blog, http://letsgorideabike.com/blog. One of the bloggers, Trisha, lives in Nashville and organizes a monthly bike brunch. I asked if I could go and was warmly welcomed. The bikers are great people!
One of the bikers was interested in knitting and I offered to teach her. So I have a knitting “student.” Knitting with company who is also knitting has been fun—I hadn’t done that in a while! Now I’m passing on my know-how, such as it is. She’s picking it up quickly and doing an amazing job. One thing my knitting friend, Lauren, does NOT need help with is sewing. She is incredible! You can see her many garments at http://lladybird.wordpress.com.
This yarn is Rowan Felted Tweed yarn in “Duck.”

i love referring to you as my “knitting teacher”!
thank you so so much for passing on your knowledge – i am so in love with knitting, and so excited to be learning new things every week. our knit-nights are definitely something i look forward to
Aw, thanks, Lauren! I love knitting night too!
